Lissette Garc

A Miami, Florida native, Lissette is a trained art historian specializing in Contemporary Art. She holds a BA in the History of Art from Florida International University, an MPA from Baruch College / CUNY Marxe School of Public and International Affairs. Lissette is a 2017 National Urban Fellow.
In her unique professional experience, Lissette has held leadership roles in museums, galleries, corporate art, nonprofits, art and community foundations, and local government, making her a well-rounded expert in her field
Aside from her expertise in the arts, Lissette considers herself a “public interest technologist” and has conducted extensive research on diversity and inclusion in technology, using the findings to inform proactive grantmaking initiatives.
Lissette completed “Groundwater- Intro to Race Equity” training by the Racial Equity Institute in 2016.
Experience in volunteer civic engagement includes being a panelist for the Florida Department of State | Division of Cultural Affairs 2021-2022 Local Grants and Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs Community Arts Grants, 2007-2014.
Lissette is a member of ArtTable, Americans for the Arts, and the National Association of Latino Arts and Cultures. She is bilingual, fluent in Spanish with conversational knowledge of French and Italian.
Lissette lives in Miami, FL and enjoys discovering new music, collecting contemporary art, books and vintage furniture.
